Rose Hall Farm is a British Horse Society approved riding school. Our lessons vary from one-to-one private tuition to group lessons and organised hacks, catering for both children and adults. We also organise a range of summer courses and day courses that cater for all ages and abilities and can organise special coaching if you have your own horse.  

We can teach anyone to ride providing you are at least 5 years of age and under 13 and a half stone. Everyone will have an initial assessment lesson which is usually on a one to one basis with an instructor. This allows us to discuss your requirements and ensure you ride suitable horses/ponies. We will also reccommend either class lessons or private lessons depending on your ability and wishes. When you come for your first lesson please arrive a few minutes early so that you can fill in a registration form.

Our group lessons are sorted by age and ability and run at the weekends. Private lessons are generally run during the week between 8.30am and 4.30pm with a few places at the weekend for assessment lessons and those who are working towards joining a group lesson. We do not run any evening lessons. 

What to wear. If you are new to riding you can start off with leggings or something without a seam so that your legs are not rubbed - jeans can rub badly. Footwear should have a small heel - most trainers and wellies are not acceptable as they have a flat sole. We do have some riding boots that can be borrowed if you cannot find anything suitable. Everyone who rides must wear a riding hat that conforms to the current standards. We can hire a hat initiallly but recommend you buy a correctly fitting hat as soon as you can. We ride outdoors in all weather so it is important that you dress accordingly - waterproof jacket if it is raining.

If a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours the full cost of the lesson is charged.
